Yes. We use:

  • Identity verification
  • Address validation

  • Secure payments
  • Host and Renter reviews
  • Safety inspections when needed

We prioritise trust and transparency.

Anyone over 18 with a valid ID can:

  • Become a Host if they have space
  • Become a Renter if they need storage

Businesses are welcome too.

FOR RENTERS

You can find garages, spare rooms, lofts, sheds, basements, driveways and more.

Most household items, furniture, boxes and business inventory. Please do not store hazardous materials, perishables, or prohibited items.

Access depends on the Host. Options include:

  • 24/7 access
  • Host-assisted
  • Appointment-based
  • Shared code or key

All access details are shown before booking.

Yes. Refunds depend on the Host’s chosen cancellation policy (Flexible, Moderate, Strict, or Long-Term). See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for full details.

Optional insurance may be available for Renters. If purchased, it protects your items against risks like fire, theft, and water damage — subject to policy terms.

If you purchased insurance, you may file a claim. Without insurance, items are stored at your own risk. Always pack items properly and follow Host rules.

FOR HOSTS

Create an account → Verify your identity → List your space with photos → Set your price → Publish your listing.

You can list almost any secure, safe, unused area, including:

  • Spare rooms
  • Garages
  • Lofts/attics
  • Sheds
  • Basements
  • Commercial spaces
  • Lockable outdoor structures
  • Parking spots for vehicles

You should check with your home or property insurer. Optional Host insurance may be available to cover:

  • Damage caused by Renters
  • Liability claims
Payments are made securely through the platform and deposited to your chosen payout method after each completed booking cycle.

Income varies based on:

  • Location
  • Space size
  • Access type
  • Security level
  • Demand in your area

Hosts do. The platform provides pricing suggestions based on real market data, but you choose your rate.

If optional Host insurance is purchased, you may file a claim. Otherwise, Renters are responsible for damage caused by negligence or misuse. Document everything and contact us for support.

SAFETY & VERIFICATION

Yes. All Hosts must complete:

  • Government ID check
  • Address verification
  • Space photo verification

Renters may undergo identification and payment verification based on booking type and behaviour.

Hosts must provide secure access (e.g., locks, keys, codes) and maintain safety standards. Renters must follow all rules to keep spaces safe.

PAYMENTS & FEES

Renters pay at checkout using secure online payment methods. Hosts receive payouts automatically after bookings start.

Yes, the platform charges:

  • A service fee to Renters
  • A commission fee to Hosts

These fees support secure payments, support services, and platform maintenance.

Yes. We use encrypted payment processing and never share financial information.

LISTINGS & BOOKINGS

Yes. You can edit:

  • Price
  • Photos
  • Description
  • Availability
  • Access rules

Changes apply to NEW bookings only.

Renters should:

  • Contact the Host immediately
  • Take photos
  • Report the issue to StoreInMySpace

We will help mediate.

If a Renter doesn’t show up for access, the booking may be treated as a no-show (refund rules apply based on policy). If a Host doesn’t show up, Renters receive a full refund.

PROBLEMS & DISPUTES

Our Trust & Safety team can mediate disputes fairly and transparently. We review messages, photos, and evidence to reach a resolution.

Report it immediately. Take photos, document everything, and contact:

PLATFORM RULES

No. This is strictly prohibited and removes all platform protections.

No. Both Hosts and Renters must follow the Acceptable Use Policy and prohibited items list.

Consequences include:

  • Listing removal
  • Account suspension
  • Permanent ban
  • Payment withholding
  • Insurance invalidation
  • Legal reporting (in serious cases)
